Bonzi® contains the active ingredient paclobutrazol. Paclobutrazol is a systemic growth regulator which acts by reducing gibberellic acid production – the plant hormone responsible for cell elongation (upward growth). Shrub vigor is therefore controlled by reducing internodal lengths of new shoots and earlier formation of terminal buds.
